Hello Carol,
It is most valuable when seeking assistance to specify the names of the parish and county; genealogy without the geography cannot happen in Ireland.
Legaghory (spelt variously) is located within the civil parish of Cumber Lower in Co. Londonderry (along the border with Co. Tyrone.

There were several families of McCombs in the parish mid-nineteenth century……

Use the above website to search for further McComb entries (although pre1871 entries for deaths are still to be digitised). Non-Catholic marriages are registered from 1845 and all births marriages and deaths were subject to civil registration from 1864. The registration district  for Londonderry certificates is Londonderry and that for Co. Tyrone is Strabane.
This should make a great start to your research?

I am trying to trace my McComb family from Legaghory!
My Ggg David Mcomb left the family farm which was very poor and made his way to Londonderry. His occupation was listed as a cartman on his son’s marriage certificate.. his birth 1821-1867.
His father was Samuel McComb.
I understand he may have several brothers and a sister Mary Ann.
Somehow they are related to a Nixon family.
Not sure if you can help me find a birth certificate for David and a death Certificate. Also cannot find his wife!
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide!
Carol Murphy New Zealand. my Mother was born in Derry.
